Vaccine rollout for Food & Agriculture workers:

  1. Registration at Clinics & Pharmacies Now Open: Our members can begin registering to schedule their appointment for vaccines as of today on the DPH website by clicking on this link and selecting a location.  The slots will be first come, first serve.

  1. Registration at the Mega POD'sSelect days at the Mega POD's will be set aside for food & ag workers.  Beginning next week, Tuesday (3/2) and Thursday (3/4)will be set aside for food & ag workers at the Mega POD's, and will likely shift to Monday's and Tuesday's beginning the week of March 8.  DPH has said that the registration links for the Mega POD's should be up on Sunday, but I recommend checking over the course of the weekend in the event that the registration links open earlier.  They're estimating that they'll be able to vaccinate 2,000 - 2,500 people per day at the Mega POD's.

  1. List of Required Documents: LA DPH has updated their website to include the list of required documentation that Food & Ag workers will need to present when they arrive for their appointment.  The list can be seen here.  Of note is there are three categories of documentation that workers will need: a photo ID, a document that proves that they either live or work in LA County, and a document that shows that they work in the food & ag industry.

  1. Letters of attestation: LA DPH has also said that unions can sign a letter of attestation, which workers can use with in conjunction with a photo ID while at the vaccine site so long as the letter includes the worker's name, the name of the workers employer, and the address of the worker's employer.  DPH has not provided a template for us to use, so feel free to draft as you see fit.

  1. Undocumented Workers: Should any of our members have family members who are undocumented and working in non-union Food & AG shops, the union can sign a letter of attestation on their behalf.  Further, undocumented people can draft and sign their own personal letters of attestation, although DPH will be piloting how effective self attestation is and could possibly end the practice after next week pending the results.
